There is a way we are used to working and perhaps it would be useful if you knew about it.
- The first point I should make is that I don't speak fluent "leverage" and I can barely say "value proposition". I mention this because you will not get the jargon of the day in any materials I produce or in any presentations I may have to give. I'm not a huge fan of the extended management speak that takes up valuable syllables without adding anything to the conversation. My documentation is concise and my presentations as jargon free as I can make them.
- I want to do as much of my work as possible from my office but the work I do will take place at the most appropriate location.
- I don't like padding out the days I deliver. The quotations I give are based on reasonable timescales.
- Proposals will give an idea of the project objectives and the effort involved in delivering the features to deliver those objectives. There is also likely to be a work breakdown and a payment profile included in the proposal. There will also be a list of activities I want you to perform as part of any project we may undertake together.
- I am evangelical about IT. I am also acutely aware that IT for IT's sake is counter productive. I may try to dissuade you from what you want to do.
- I have a particular set of skills and it is those skills I will wish to deliver. I will not take on work I believe I cannot do.

If you want to see a formal profile then by all means view my profile on Linkedin. I spent much of my time in front of a computer screen so it is good to get away from it sometimes. I love playing basketball when the opportunity arises and when the body is willing to cooperate. As a means of trying to get some degree of regular workout I have taken up walking. A short stroll would probably more accurate but it has kept me busy with a blog over at the Reluctant Rambler. I do enjoy taking photographs and continue to provide photography services for other clients. I live in Sheffield with my wife and son.
