Weddings
Photographs from your wedding are a chance to capture the essence of the day. We would be delighted to capture your moments for you so you can enjoy them long after the day is over. The process is below is typically the process we employ for our weddings. Take some time to visit each of the tabs for further information. Contact us with any questions.

The questionnaire is the important starting point for the wedding process. It enables us to collect enough information to allow us to price up the wedding and ensure everything you want us to do can be done in the time available. It is important that we have the time and the facilities and this is the first chance we have to put togther a timeline for the day to make sure we can get to where we need to be given the times.
We ask for as much detail as you can give us and we can then give you a formal price for doing your wedding. If you are happy with the price then we will send a contract to you and the work of preparing your wedding photographs can begin in earnest. Our first steps will then be to visit the venues even if we have been to them before. We would be keen on discussing any building plans they may have and timings of other events at the venue on that day.
Please download our wedding questionnaire from here.
Considerations: Things you may wish to bear in mind about the information and the questionnaire itself.
- Consider the time needed to get the shots you want. If we don't think the time is sufficient then we will tell you.
- Speak with the venue and see how flexible they are for timings. As a rule of thumb I would allow a minimum of one hour for photographs after the service and longer if you need to move to a different location for the reception. We get to do the photographs once so don't skimp on the time. People will be happy to sit and relax while you go off and have your photographs done.
- Think about what items you want us to photograph.
This activity is an important one. Having your photograph taken should be fun and this practice session gives us an opportunity to get to know one another with a camera in the way. The session allows us to discuss likes and dislikes for poses and potential locations for types of shots. It also gives us another opportunity to think about who needs to be part of any group shots if you want to have group shots.
Typically we will have the shoot at the venue for your reception but it may also be useful to visit the location of your service too. Having a camera pointed at you can feel intrusive at first and that is particularly the case if the camera is looking at you for a significant proportion of the day. We aim to make you feel more relaxed about the prospect of a wedding day in the camera.
The session would normally last an hour but may well last longer if there is more to discuss. We will email you the photographs from the session and you can use them for personal use. This session is the ideal opportunity to discuss styles of photgoraphy whether your preference is for reportage, traditional or a mix of styles. If you have images you like then by all means bring them with you.
What is the shooting plan? This document contains a list of scenes for photographs through the day and a list of photographs we have agreed upon.
This document is a working document so it will have a number of incarnations and it is the basis of what needs to be photographed on the day. There will be opportunity to get other shots as well as people mill around and catch up but this list is the ones we would really like to get on the day. The document also contains small photographs of locations so we can agree where certain photographs should take place.
This is an important document so please take time to go through it and make changes as you see fit.
We the come to the big day. The day is usually hectic and flys by.
Registrars, church wardens, vicars, priests and other officials vary from venue to venue in terms of what they allow. Some will allow us to photograph everything with others insisting on no photographs through the service and photographs only being allowed at the signing of the register. It is useful to know that early and something you should be asking as you speak to them in the early days.
The wedding day is your though. Enjoy it. You won't notice the camera after a while but you will have the aching cheeks that going along with smiling so much.
We always provide the photographs on CD. How many photographs you get will depend on the day and what you have asked us to do. So far it has never been less than 200 for a full day of bridal preparations, service and wedding breakfast.
The CD of images can be for your own personal use and for those of family and friends. If you want to make prints from the images that is fine. Similarly, if you want to make your own album that is fine also. We ask that photographs are not used in the press or for resale without our express permission.
If you want more than a CD then we offer a number of options for albums.
- Our starting point is a hardback digital album that would typically have 100 images in it. The images are printed directly on the page and the album is provided hard bound and with a uniquely designed dust jacket. This album would also be available in smaller sizes that make perfect gifts. The price for these albums is around £125. The delivery time for these albums is around 10 days from the time you agree the final design.
- We also supply Queensberry albums. They are based in New Zealand and they are at the forefront of bespoke page printed and traditional mounted albums. There are too many options to give hard and fast prices but realistically a starting price would be £600. Delivery times for these can be two months.
We can do slideshows or DVD's of your images set to music of your choice. We have done many of these in the past so please let us know if you are interested in this type of service. We can also do this using old photographs if you want to do a show through the reception. It is quite an effective way of adding an amusing break.
Pricing: The cheapest wedding we do is £495 for covering the service only and providing images on CD. We do not do a pre-shoot for this service. However, it is impossible give hard and fast figures about pricing until we know what we are expected to do. Please fill in our questionnaire (download it here) and allow us to put some outline pricing together based on your answers.
